We start in La Fabriquilla direction to San Jos\u00e9. We go through the engines that provide water to Las Salinas, a shelter for migrating birds like the majestic flamingo. We\u2019ll then visit Cabo de Gata\u2019s lighthouse, the Arrecife de Las Sirenas cliff, Cabo de Gata\u2019s geographic cape, the incredible beaches of Vela Blanca, Cala Carb\u00f3n, La Media Luna and M\u00f3nsul (set of many films like Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade or some of the music videos of David Bisbal, a famous singer from Almeria. We pass through El Playazo, a beautiful beach in front of the Rodalquilar valley with clear waters and sand from the ancient coral reefs. Rodalquilar is known for its abandoned gold mines (maybe we\u2019ll tell you where the gold is). After El Playazo the landscape changes and we enter the volcano where we are able to see columns of crystallised lava that were used for cobblestones. Then we enter the Bergat\u00edn fully reserve cove. From there we\u2019ll find magic cliffs with weird forms and colours that make us appreciate the geological wealth of this landscape. We finish our trip in La Polacra, scenery of one of the oldest shipwrecks from where the place name comes. La Isleta is a fishers\u2019 quarter where the millennial fishing techniques are still in use. Sailing to San Jos\u00e9 we see the Arco\u2019s beach and the Embarcadero\u2019s cove. Next we have San Felipe\u2019s castle, built on ancient reef beaches that have created a soft calcareous rock that has been transformed by the wind into whimsical and magical figures. We turn the esparto\u2019s and rocket\u2019s points where the first Spanish rocket was launched; this was due to the depopulation of the area and the low risk of accidents. We go through the Escullos\u2019 cliffs, name that comes from the shoals (in Spanish escollos) that complicated sailing for those who didn\u2019t know the seabed. In the itinerary we find several hidden coves, such as Piedra Galera\u2019s beach , Cortada\u2019s cove, Chica\u2019s cove and Tomate\u2019s cove, a shelter from the winds where we\u2019ll have the opportunity to jump into the water to take a peek of the wonderful under water.<br \/>\nBehind the mountain, we find the Bentonite quarries, a volcanic ash of interesting texture that has several industrial uses. We finish the ride in Higuera\u2019s cove and San Jos\u00e9, an old fishermen population that has now become one of the main touristic places of the Park.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/elcaboafondo.es\/paseo-en-barco-cabo-de-gata\/en\">Go to the itinerary page<\/a>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Amatistas\u2019 itinerary. As soon as we get away from the village through the fishermen\u2019s boats, we are able to admire the promontory barely connected to the land that names the village. The seagulls flying playfully with the airflow and the Frailes\u2019 mountains as the perfect background. Next, we have the Pe\u00f1\u00f3n Blanco\u2019s beach.<br \/>\nOn the way we pass through Los Toros\u2019 cove where a little pine forest surprises in the driest weather of Europe. In the background we can see the Amatistas\u2019 viewpoint under which we can see the amethyst (amatista in Spanish), the amazing rose quartz.<br \/>\nWe continue to El Carnaje, a beach with lava \u201cbowls\u201d surrounded by the sea. At the back, La Polacra or dark stone and above it, Los Lobos\u2019 hill. We first pass through the Black hill and Hernandez\u2019s cove. And then, we arrive to San Pedro\u2019s cove, only spot with sweet water next to a beach. Watching over the cove, we find San Pedro\u2019s castle and in front of this paradise, we see San Pedro\u2019s small island, Javana\u2019s point and Montoya\u2019s and Chumba\u2019s coves; all of them corners that we cannot access by land and that conceal rocks with beautiful and whimsical forms.
